Grouper
The matching internal codes (parity, BMI, out-of-range flags) are added to the secondary diagnoses automatically — by the Helios Casemix Engine.
More patient details Duration, contact days, discharge, dates
Optional — fill in both to calculate the number of contact days automatically. Leave either one blank to enter the day count manually above.
Grouping a single contact right now — add another to link it into a spell (a DRG hospital spell is built from several contacts).
Editing Contact 1. Sex and age above apply to the whole spell; everything below applies to this contact only.

Group an episode or a contact, then press Save under the result. Saved items stay on this device and can be reopened at any time — nothing is sent to our servers. Click one to see its result together with the information used.
Upload one Excel workbook to group many contacts (and, with a Forl sheet, whole spells) in one go. The workbook has one sheet per table — Stam and Diag (required), Proc and Forl (optional) — each with a header row.
Workbook layout
- Stam sheet — RecId, ForlType, ForlId, Sex (1 = male, 2 = female), Age (days at admission), Survdage (unused), Indm (1 = acute, 2 = planned), Kontaktdage (min. 1), Afslutning (13 = died, 27 = transferred, blank = other), Kontakttype (the PATTYPE code, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 7 or 8; 9 or blank = physical attendance), Kontaktaarsag.
- Diag sheet — RecId, Type (A = principal, B = secondary, T = supplement to the principal), Code (e.g. DR060, or an internal code such as pari_1).
- Proc sheet — RecId, Type (P = procedure, T = supplement), Code (e.g. BKHD20A).
- Forl sheet — ForlType, ForlId, RecId: which contacts belong to which spell. Each spell is grouped with the loop method (the contact whose principal diagnosis gives the highest tariff is used).
The result from the Helios Casemix Engine has the columns: RecId, CalcRecId, ForlType, ForlId, Drg, Mdc, Rtc, Regel, Points, Used.
For big files — up to about 20,000 contacts. Upload the file, and the grouping runs on our servers: you can close this page and come back. When it is ready you get an email and the result is here to download. A saved job can repeat every week or month against the logic as it is then.
File layout
- Excel (.xlsx) — the same workbook as Group from files (sheets Stam, Diag, Proc and optional Forl). Spells are grouped with the loop method. The result has the same columns as the Group from files result, plus the DRG name.
- CSV (.csv) — one contact per row with a header row. Columns:
id,primaryDiagnosis, secondaryDiagnoses, procedures, supplementCodes(several codes in one cell separated by a vertical bar | or a space),ageDays(orageYears),sex(M or F),admissionPriority, dischargeDisposition, contactReason, contactDays, pattype. These are the same fields as in the API.

Starts empty with the 33-variable rule schema. Add rules in Developer; add tariffs and trim points later from Library.
Select all 7 files from the release at once — dg1, drgtpt, till, obspro, drglogik, casemixdrg, egenskaber.
Import SKS classification catalog
Your SKS catalogs
Sundhedsdatastyrelsen's SKScomplete.txt — powers the searchable diagnosis/procedure drilldown in Diagnoses & procedures. A one-off reference import, separate from yearly DK-DRG releases; re-importing replaces the current catalog.

Helios Grouper for Windows
Group files on your own computer, or from SQL and SAS, with this logic. Download the program, then export the logic files below.
Click a logic to make it the active logic — it is used in Developer, Grouper and Atlas until you pick another.
Developer
Rules are checked top to bottom (lowest order first) — the first match wins. Leave age/length-of-stay fields blank when they don't apply. Changes save when you leave a field (press Tab or click elsewhere).

Group code
DGCAT and PROCPRO1 values reference a group of SKS codes rather than a single code. Rename the group or change which codes belong to it here — every rule that references it picks up the change.
Add codes to this group
End with * to select every code below a parent — e.g. DR9* selects DR99, DR991, DR992, DR99A… — or start with * to select codes before it instead, e.g. *DR9 matches codes ending in DR9.
Click codes to select them, or type several separated by commas, e.g. BB287, GH283, TT284. Then add them all at once.

Validation tests
Test contacts with the DRG each one must group to. Run them against the logic chosen below at any time — they also run automatically before the logic is pushed to a client or to production, and a failing test stops the push.
Add tests
Use the same workbook as Group from files: one Excel file with the sheets Stam, Diag, Proc and (for spells) Forl, plus an Expected sheet that says which DRG each contact or spell must group to. A spell is grouped with the loop method, exactly as in Group from files.
Expected sheet layout
- Expected sheet — RecId, ForlType, ForlId, Drg, Points, TrimPoint, with a header row. A contact: fill RecId. A spell: leave RecId blank and fill ForlType and ForlId (the DRG expected from the loop method). Points and TrimPoint are optional; when given, they are checked as well.
- Importing the same workbook again updates the tests it created earlier (same RecId or spell), so you can keep one workbook up to date.
- You can also add a single test from Grouper with Save as validation test.

Production sites
Each customer gets two public, read-only pages — Atlas and Grouper — with a year picker. Pushing a logic into production copies it as it is right now, so later edits never reach the public pages until you push again. Only logics whose change log is fully approved can be pushed.
Atlas
This logic is locked, so you can look but not change anything. Unlock it in Library to edit it.
Why this change?
Every change in Developer needs a short reason — it's saved in the change log alongside the change itself.
